Sharing snaps of Roy’s menu boards, Twitter user @GregorSwanson revealed that pie, chips and mushy peas used to be £2.60 - but three months on it has increased to £5.50, the Mirror reports.

He wrote: “Inflation is real. Roy Cropper has had to put up the price of Pie, Chips & Mushy Peas by 112% in the last 3 months #CostOfLivingCrisis.” The Twitter user also cheekily tagged Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis and business and political editor Robert Peston in the post.

Fans were quick to comment on the hilarious post, with one writing: “I genuinely love that you’ve done this.” Another said: “I texted my mate when I saw the curry had gone up!” A third Corrie fan rightly observed: “Surely it was underpriced before?” “Wow, Roy Cropper really out here giving us a taste of that inflation pie.
