Residents whose homes were evacuated after a 'substantial amount' of fireworks were found in a house in Stockport have been allowed to return to their properties after more than 24 hours.
A number of controlled explosions have also been carried out in an 'isolated location' tonight (Friday). Bomb disposal experts were scrambled to the scene on Middleton Road in Reddish yesterday following the discovery.

He is being held under Section 4 of the Explosive Substances Act. Police have not disclosed the location where tonight's controlled explosions took place, but witnesses reported seeing bomb disposal vehicles and hearing loud bangs at Woodbank Park in Stockport at about 8pm.
