Burnley are understood to be close to confirming the arrival of Darko Churlinov. The winger is poised to become Burnley’s latest summer signing for a fee in the region of five million euros.
The 22-year-old was also attracting interest from Anderlecht but the Clarets are believed to have won the race. Turf chief Vincent Kompany was coy on the potential of the North Macedonia international arriving when asked after the defeat to Watford on Friday night.
The Clarets have already signed 11 new players this summer with 13 departing. Churlinov would add further attacking options to the Burnley ranks with the Clarets having scored only two league goals in their opening three games.
Burnley also want an extra centre back and that player could well be Metz centre half Boubacar Kouyate as recent reports suggest the Clarets will return with a fresh bid for the Mali international.
