Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere believes Manchester United have found their new Michael Carrick in Christian Eriksen, as the Denmark international continues to impress following his summer arrival.

The 30-year-old — who arrived at Old Trafford on a free transfer from Brentford in the transfer window — has been deployed in midfield alongside Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes in recent weeks.

Despite operating in a more attacking role for the Bees last season, Eriksen has adjusted well to playing deeper in recent weeks and has received praise for his ability to dictate play and control the game.

The Dane was incredibly impressive in the 3-1 victory over Arsenal at the weekend and recorded an assist for Marcus Rashford's late goal.
