Chelsea utility player Trevoh Chalobah has paid an emotional farewell to lifelong friend Mason Mount after Manchester United made a breakthrough in their attempts to sign the midfielder.
United reached an agreement with the Londoners on Thursday afternoon, agreeing to pay up to £60million to sign the England international.
The Reds are set to pay £55m up-front and an additional £5m in add-ons. Mount is scheduled to undergo a medical in the coming days and is on course to become United's first signing of the summer transfer window.
Manager Erik ten Hag had made it his mission to strengthen his midfield options this summer and he is now on course to achieve that objective before the start of pre-season.
