New Chelsea manager Graham Potter has had ‘a lot of one-to-one conversations’ with unhappy players during his first days in charge, according to journalist Dean Jones. Several stars were linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge over the summer after becoming frustrated with their game time under previous boss Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel was surprisingly dismissed just seven games into the new season by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly despite overseeing a busy transfer window where multiple players came and went.

The west London outfit spent around £250 million on new acquisitions, while the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger departed for pastures new.

And other fringe players such as Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Trevor Chalobah were also reportedly eager to depart Chelsea in search of regular first-team opportunities.
