Chelsea ‘could make a move’ to tempt Memphis Depay to Stamford Bridge if his Barcelona contract is terminated, according to journalist Simon Phillips. Depay’s Nou Camp team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang already appears to be on his way to west London after an agreement was reached earlier today, but there is still time to conclude more deals ahead of tonight’s 11pm deadline.

According to respected Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Chelsea has emerged as a possible destination for Barcelona star Depay.

Romero suggests the 80-cap Netherlands international held talks with the La Liga giants’ hierarchy yesterday and made it clear that he wants to seal a move away ahead of tonight’s deadline.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Barcelona have agreed to terminate Depay’s contract as long as he is able to find another club.
