Chelsea star Denis Zakaria’s days at Stamford Bridge could already be numbered as there is ‘definitely a chance’ that his loan from Juventus will be terminated ahead of schedule, according to journalist Paul Brown. The west Londoners spent more than £250million during the summer transfer window and the defensive midfielder was among the fresh faces, but the move has not worked out.
Although Zakaria made a deadline day move to Chelsea, joining on an initial season-long loan which has the option of being made permanent, a quickfire move away from the capital appears to be on the cards.
According to 90min, the Blues are looking to terminate Zakaria’s loan in January and a return to parent club Juventus is in the offing.
The report suggests the 42-cap Switzerland international does not feature in Chelsea head coach Graham Potter’s plans. However, Chelsea may have to keep Zakaria at the club until the end of the season as it is understood that Juventus do not have an obligation to take him back ahead of schedule.
