Michael Vaughan and Wasim Jaffer have often indulged in great banter on social media. The former England cricket team captain and the ex-Indian cricket team player have often pulled each other's leg on Twitter and other social media platforms.

So, when India lost to England in the fifth reschduled Test, it was time for Vaughan to take a dig at former Indian cricket team player Wasim Jaffer. "Just checking are ok @WasimJaffer14," Vaughan wrote on Twitter.

The response from Jaffer was a smart one. "In all the excitement You forgot to write 'you' Check the scoreline It's only 2-2 #ENGvIND," Jaffer wrote in reply, reminding Vaughan that while England won the match, the series was shared by the two teams.

Virat Kohli could be better off taking a three-month sabbatical and "go and sit on a beach", suggested former England captain Michael Vaughan. Two low scores in the recently-held Covid-delayed fifth Test against England have extended Kohli's lean run with the bat. Kohli looked in fine touch during his stay in the middle, but failed to convert his starts into substantial scores, as England rallied to win the match and level the series 2-2.
Trailing the five-match series 1-2, England defeated India in the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow hit centuries as England chased a down a record total of 378 to level the series 2-2. While Bairstow has been in top form of late, hitting tons in both innings, Root continued from where he left last year before the final Test was postponed. With four centuries and one fifty to his name, the former England skipper ended the series as the top-scorer with 737 runs. Former India batter Wasim Jaffer feels that if Root continues to play Test cricket at this level for the next five-six years, he might break Sachin Tendulkar's record as the all-time highest run-getter in Test cricket.
India are defeated and deflated now. But skipper Rohit Sharma on Wednesday said only "time will tell" how the crushing loss at Edgbaston impacts the side in the long run. India let slip a golden opportunity to record their first series win in England since 2007 as the hosts, in an incredible turnaround, recorded their highest-ever run chase in Test cricket.
The 'Bazball' remained a quite hot topic during India's rescheduled fifth Test match against England. While some used it to mock the England national cricket team on Day 2 of the match, the same topic was used by the fans of England cricket as a reply to the critics later. Notably, England were 84/5 at Stumps on Day 2 but they eventually registered a dominating seven-wicket win over India to level the series 2-2. Their attacking brand of cricket helped them beat the Jasprit Bumrah-led side in the game.
India stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah on Tuesday attributed his side's defeat to England in the rescheduled fifth Test here to the batting failure in the second innings, saying they let the match slip away from their hands after dominating major part of it. England rode on Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow's majestic centuries to thump India by seven wickets and register their highest-ever successful run chase in Test cricket. England overhauled the 378-run target in the morning session of the fifth and final day with Root and Bairstow remaining unbeaten on 142 and 114 respectively. "That's the beauty of Test cricket, even if you have three good days. We fell short with the bat yesterday and that is where we let the opposition in to let the match slip away from us," Bumrah said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
