Celtic start David Turnbull insists that playing in the Champions League against superstar teams like Real Madrid can only benefit his side as they learn from the best.

Turnbull, from Wishaw, says those are the teams Celtic want to test themselves against, and even if they came up short against the Spanish giants, at least they gave it a go.

With tomorrow's visit by Livingston postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, Celtic aren't due to be in action until they face Shakhtar Donetsk in Poland on Wednesday.

And following the 3-0 defeat against Madrid last week, Turnbull says Celtic are eager to get back to winning ways. The 23-year-old said: "The response at the end of the [Madrid] game in the dressing room was positive. "We want to compete against these teams and we did that against Real Madrid in spells. "It is now about doing that for the 90 minutes, but everybody is fine. "We will just dust ourselves down and get on with it.
