Celtic could still move for Manchester City midfielder Claudio Gomes this summer and the deal is “one to keep an eye on” according to journalist Pete O’Rourke. Ange Postecoglu is in the process of preparing his side for a defence of their Scottish Premiership title in 2022-23 but further deals could still be struck before the transfer deadline.
It has been a busy summer for Celtic so far with six permanent deals struck in the green and white half of Glasgow already. Aaron Mooy, Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei have all arrived as new signings while Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda have made their loan moves permanent.
Centre-back Mortiz Lenz has also arrived on loan from FC Lorient for the season. Despite the arrival of Mooy, another addition to the midfield appears to still be on the cards at Celtic Park.
Manchester City youngster Gomes has been linked with a temporary move north of the border this summer, one of the latest in a line of talents from the Premier League champions’ academy.
