Brendan Rodgers will assess Cameron Carter-Vickers for Aberdeen as he ruled Greg Taylor out of the clash with Atalanta. The Parkhead boss gave an update on two key defenders ahead of the Premiership clash with the Dons.

Carter-Vickers is back in training after his toe issue, but Taylor is still absent and set to also miss Wednesday’s Champions League crunch tie in Italy.

Rodgers said: “Cam has trained for the last few days, so we’ll just wait for a reaction after today [Friday] just to see if he’s going to be available.

Greg is doing really well, but he won’t probably come back into the squad training until after the Atalanta game.” Rodgers insists he’s not looking ahead to Bergamo as he assess the Carter-Vickers option for Aberdeen.
