Plenty of Championship sides had been keen to add Aaron Mooy to their ranks this summer but the midfielder has decided to snub interest from England to seal a deal with Celtic, as reported by their official website. The midfielder has been a free agent this summer and considering his previous experience in the country, there had been plenty of interest in bringing the player to the second tier of English football.

Journalist Anthony Joseph had reported that Middlesbrough, Swansea and Norwich have all been eyeing up moves for Mooy and could try and secure deals for the 31-year-old.

However, rather than deciding to get involved in a potential promotion battle, he has instead chosen European football and the Scottish Premier League with Celtic.

The midfielder has played in the Championship twice before with Huddersfield, having impressed and been arguably one of the best in his position in the division.
