A horror injury to Cambuslang Rangers’ big-money signing Keirin Coleman forced abandonment of their West of Scotland First Division match against Petershill – with boss Paul McColl fearing he’s out for the season.
With ten minutes of the clash remaining and Petershill 2-0 up – and with Cambuslang having just missed a penalty – defender Coleman went down with a suspected dislocated knee.
Referee Ross Anderson immediately called a halt to the game, while an ambulance took the stricken 27-year-old to hospital. McColl says he doesn’t know or care if the defeat will stand, as long as former Rutherglen Glencairn and Blantyre Vics star Coleman is okay.
A shell-shocked McColl said after the game: “It’s the big boy we’ve just signed from Cumnock and we spent a lot of money, but I don’t care about that, as long as he’s all right. “It was a nothing thing, I don’t think it was even a tackle, but I don’t remember what happened, I’m just thinking about the injury. “It was a coming together, and he’s twisted his knee. “It’s a bad one, you can just tell.
