Canada want to call-up Celtic’s rising star Bruno Davidson. The 18-year-old has been a regular in the Hoops B team this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 11 appearances and that has alerted the Maple Leafs.

Canada’s under-20s have been in touch and are keen to cap the young winger. Davidson, who was born in Singapore, is eligible to play for Canada through his mum.

The door has been left open as the starlet has not been called up by Scotland at under-19 level. Highly-regarded Davidson is making big strides at Celtic are they are set to open contract talks over the coming weeks to extend his current deal at Celtic Park beyond the summer.

The teenager had previously been down at Liverpool, Leicester City and Southampton before Celtic moved to beat off the English Premier League interest when they signed him from famed Edinburgh boys club Hutchison-Vale.
