Brendan Rodgers has issued a blunt demand to Mikey Johnston and told the winger he must do more to become a Celtic regular. The winger lasted an hour but failed to shine after an impressive second half sub appearance away at St Johnstone on Sunday.

A half-time blast in Perth has put some of the Celtic stars on edge but most have stepped up and took the gaffer's message on board when given the chance.

But Rodgers told Sportsound Johnston has to got to do more. He said: "Mikey needs to do more, that is the reality. He has big talent and comes into the game but if you are going to start the game, we need more impact from him but that is something we can hopefully see over the course of time. "He's not young.
