Brendan Rodgers has Celtic transfer tricks up sleeve and 23 days could prove he can slay Champions League giants - Keith Jackson

It's seven weeks and one day since Brendan Rodgers made his second coming at Celtic official. And yet, somewhat curiously, it still feels as if the returning Parkhead boss has still to really get started.

Yes, his side is already exactly where he left it four years ago, perched back on top of the Premiership table just one game into the new campaign.

And, granted, Rodgers made a statement or two at lunchtime on Saturday when he sent his team out for the first time to face Ross County, with David Turnbull claiming a starring role after spending the last two seasons as a largely forgotten man on the fringes of Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI.

As a matter of fact, Turnbull’s surprise promotion - at the expense of Reo Hatate - did feel very much as if Rodgers was sending out a message.
