A railway line in Greater Manchester is blocked this evening (May 29) as police attend an ongoing incident, with forensics also reportedly at the scene.
Emergency services are dealing with the ongoing incident between the Eccles and Patricroft stations this evening. A number of police vehicles have been pictured at Eccles station.
National Rail announced that services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Airport, Blackpool North and Manchester Piccadilly, and between Wigan Wallgate and Manchester Victoria, have been brought to halt amid the incident. Witnesses on board have described the train coming to a stop shortly after passing through Eccles station this evening. Network Rail tweeted: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident, train services are unable to run between Manchester Stations and Earlestown."
