Ian Evatt believes summer signing Jack Iredale has hit the ground running at Bolton Wanderers since joining the club and the defender has shown exactly what his new club thought he would.

The 26-year-old was the club's first signing earlier this summer. He joined on a three-year-deal after departing fellow League One side Cambridge United on a free transfer.

Iredale was handed his debut over the weekend for the victory over Wycombe Wanderers. He came off the bench in last night's Carabao Cup win over Salford City. He believes the defender has needed some time to get up to speed at his new club but has taken things on board well. Evatt said: “Jack is exactly what we thought we were bringing in and he has hit the ground running since he has been here.
