Blossoms and Rick Astley to perform Smiths covers at Glastonbury tonight

Blossoms and Rick Astley are set to reunite at Glastonbury for a special performance of Smiths covers. The Stockport indie rockers have previously performed alongside the Never Gonna Give You Up star, including at a gig at Manchester's Albert Hall in 2021.

This evening, Worthy Farm is set to be transformed into a Manchester indie disco with classics such as This Charming Man and There Is a Light That Never Goes Out being covered by the unlikely musical pairing.

Both acts pair are set to come together once again for a last minute set on the Woodsies' stage at 6pm. The band posted a picture of them together and confirmed the gig, which had not previously been announced until this afternoon. Rick, from Newton-le-Willows, has already performed at Glastonbury today. He was first on the Pyramid Stage this afternoon, for a well received set which included covers of AC/DC's Highway to Hell, during which he played drums, as well as his own version of Harry Styles song As It Was.
