Man fined £400 for dumping rubbish in street

A man has been fined £400 for dumping rubbish on a neighbourhood street. Trafford council’s environmental improvement officers were alerted to the waste dumped on Norton Street in Old Trafford on April 2, 2024.

They investigated and identified a man from Manchester as being responsible. The man attended Trafford Town Hall and was interviewed under caution about the waste. He admitted he was responsible for depositing some of the rubbish and was issued with a £400 fixed penalty notice.

Coun Stephen Adshead, Trafford council’s executive member for Environmental Services, said: “We will not tolerate fly tipping in Trafford and will continue to come down hard on those who dump rubbish in our borough. If you are caught fly tipping in Trafford, we will take action against you.”
