BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden upbeat amid cancer treatment realisation as co-star makes touching gesture

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden appeared upbeat as she shared a realisation about her cancer treatment with her fans ahead of a hospital appointment on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old professional dancer had a mastectomy in June after she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and is now undergoing chemotherapy.

Taking to Instagram to deliver her latest update amid her ongoing health battle, Amy told her followers that she was about to go into the hospital to get her bloods checked ahead of her seventh chemotherapy session.

Speaking to the camera, Amy, wearing a pink Nike hoodie and a black head scarf, sent a cheery message to her fans telling them that she was hoping her checks would come back okay so she could start her next round of treatment on Thursday.
