Amy Dowden has been flooded with support from her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars and fans after she shared her fears of a heartbreaking side effect of her cancer treatment.
The dancer is currently undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Amy, who has been a part of the BBC One dance contest since 2017, announced in June she had been diagnosed with cancer and had already undergone a mastectomy and reconstruction.
The surgery came after she discovered a lump in her right breast before going on her honeymoon with her husband Ben Jones. The Caerphilly-born dancer then later confirmed after her surgery that doctors found another type of cancer, changing her planned course of treatment that may have seen her back in competition in the ballroom this series.
Amy has, however, made appearances on the hit dance show and has been doing all she can to raise awareness for breast cancer.
