Barry Robson insists Aberdeen can take harsh lessons from a hectic first half of the season – and thrive on them in the New Year.

Pressure lifted on the Dons boss after a superb Dingwall display sent the Red Army heading home happy and Robson’s team into the winter break in far better fettle.

Jamie McGrath’s brilliantly-taken double and a late 15th of the season from Bojan Miovski lifted dominant Aberdeen up to joint seventh in the table.

With the Dons excellent throughout, the Irishman’s eighth and ninth goals of the campaign closed the gap on sixth-placed Hibs to two points, with two games in hand.
