India batter Ravindra Jadeja looked set to complete his century as he arrived on the pitch on Day 3 of the first Test against England in Hyderabad. However, only a few runs later, England star Joe Root trapped him in front of the stumps, and the umpire had no issue in raising his finger. However, Jadeja remained unconvinced and went straight to the third umpire, opting for a DRS referral. The third umpire analysed the footage available from multiple angles, and in the end, the decision went in the favour of Root and the England team. But, that didn't stop a social media debate from triggering.
Ravichandran Ashwin was left disappointed during Day 2 of the first Test match between India and England on Friday after a horrible mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja led to his dismissal. During the 91st over of the Indian innings, Ashwin played a shot off Joe Root towards cover and went for a quick single. Jadeja initially responded to his call but turned back when the fielder quickly reached the ball and threw it to the wicket-keeper. It was too late for Ashwin and he ended up running to the other side with both batters now on the non-striker end. England wicket-keeper Ben Foakes calmly collected the throw from Tom Hartley and finished the run-out. Ashwin stared at Jadeja after the dismissal and then walked back disappointed with the video of the whole incident going viral on social media.
