Ashford United are looking forward to their first league game in more than a month this weekend. The Nuts & Bolts host Broadbridge Heath in Isthmian South East on Saturday (3pm).
Cup commitments mean they haven’t played a league match since losing 4-0 at Ramsgate on September 10. During that time, they’ve slipped to second-bottom, with two points from four games.
It’s time to start climbing the table and with a run of four fixtures before returning to FA Trophy action, they have a chance to do just that.
The Broadbridge game is followed by a trip to East Grinstead on Tuesday night (7.45pm). Boss Danny Kedwell said: “There’s a bit of pressure on, where we haven’t played a league for such a long time. “But if the boys play how they’ve been playing in the cups, hopefully we’ll get a few wins to get us out of the bottom four and up the table. “You’d always rather have points on the table than games in hand because you’ve got to go out and get those points now. “Some people have played 10 games, where we’ve only played four.
