Arsenal have now turned their attention towards Oleksandr Zinchenko this week… The Gunners are set to make a move for another Manchester City star after missing out on Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez, who appears set to join Manchester United instead.

That’s according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who revealed the change in plans to supporters on Twitter. “EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal working on deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Man City,” he said. “Clubs in talks, #MCFC open to sale if valuation met. #AFC would also need to agree [on] personal terms.

Versatile 25yo [is] now [a] priority for Arteta after missing [out on] Martinez.” It remains to be seen exactly how much it would cost to lure him from the Eithad Stadium, though CIES Football Observatory currently value him in the region of £26m.

Zinchenko would be an ideal alternative to Martinez as he too is a hugely versatile player that can play in multiple positions.
