Anthony Gordon has been told to sit tight and not make any international decisions yet - because an England call up IS coming.

The Newcastle winger is on Steve Clarke's Scotland hitlist as he looks to expand the pool of players he can pick from ahead of the Euro 2024 finals in Germany next summer.

St James' Park teammates Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento are also potential recruits, along with Elliot Anderson, although the midfielder withdrew from the last squad after one training session, leading to suggestions he was set to opt for England despite Clarke insisting Anderson is yet to decide.

Gordon, who qualifies for Scotland through his grandparents, joined the Magpies in a £45million switch from Everton last January and is the highest profile of the potential Tartan Toons.
