David de Gea left some huge boots to fill at Manchester United this summer as Andre Onana was welcomed to the club. The former Ajax and Inter Milan goalkeeper joined the Reds following his Champions League final defeat to Manchester City.
With Erik ten Hag reuniting with the 'keeper, the Dutchman signed yet another player he had worked with prior to his 2022 move to Old Trafford.
The signing of Onana was met with plenty of excitement as United supporters had long since recognised the need for a goalkeeper who was comfortable playing out from the back.
But replacing a goalkeeper who had won the Premier League at Old Trafford and was named the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year on four separate occasions was never going to be easy - even if De Gea's form had taken a significant dip towards the end of his time at the club.
