Celebrations for the King's coronation will be taking place all over Manchester this weekend. The city will be marking the historic occasion with street parties as well as two public screenings of the ceremony itself on Saturday (May 6).

The coronation of King Charles III and the Queen Consort will be broadcast live from London onto large screens set up in Piccadilly Gardens and Manchester Cathedral where people can watch the ceremony for free.

There will be an array of vendors in Piccadilly Gardens selling food, coronation treats and tipples – plus, there will be face painting for little ones keen to join in the fun.

The coronation fun continues into Sunday (May 7), where Piccadilly Gardens will be transformed into a picnic space for the Coronation Big Lunch.
