Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund have thanked Erik ten Hag following his departure from Manchester United. Garnacho was given his first-team debut by former interim manager Ralf Rangnick, but Ten Hag has been credited with overseeing his development into an established starter.

Hojlund was signed by Ten Hag in a deal worth £72million last summer and he scored 16 goals in his first season at the club, which saw United finish eighth in the Premier League.

Both players started in Ten Hag's final game in charge against West Ham at the weekend. United dominated the first half, missing plenty of chances at the London Stadium, but failed to draw first blood and the home side claimed a 2-1 win after a controversial penalty was awarded.
