An air ambulance landed near Manchester city centre as a man was rushed to hospital with burn injuries after being rescued from a flat fire.
Fire crews and paramedics raced to the scene on Lamport Close after receiving multiple reports of a fire in the bedroom of a first floor apartment on Monday (April 3).
There was a huge emergency services response called out to the scene at around 1.30pm, including rapid response vehicles, fire crews and an air ambulance that also landed on a grassed area off nearby Grosvenor Street. The nature of his condition or how the fire started have not yet been confirmed. A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to the incident at 13:33 and attended with our hazardous area response team, air ambulance, advanced paramedic, rapid response vehicle, on-scene commander and an ambulance.
