Chris Sutton has admitted there is a possibility that Aberdeen could gatecrash the top two party in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic have been dominant in recent times over Rangers in terms of the league title but the derby rivals finish either first or second more often than not across the 38 game season.

This season however, Jimmy Thelin and Aberdeen have matched Brendan Rodgers' champions stride for strike at the league summit with both chalking up seven wins from seven matches.

Philippe Clement and his Light Blues find themselves trailing the duo at this early stage by five points with the top flight boasting a huge top of the table showdown this weekend at Parkhead following the international break.
