Rangers hero Craig Moore says he pushed for countryman Aaron Mooy to sign for Rangers before his move to Celtic. The Australian international has reunited with former Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou at the Hoops ahead of their Premiership title defence and Champions League group stage football.

Moore knows all about the Aussie battler and admits he was telling the Ibrox club Mooy was one to snap up. He believes it would have been a shrewd signing for Rangers and that opinion hasn't changed now Mooy has arrived at Celtic Park.

He told the Daily Record : "He's a fantastic player, and you touch on experience, I think that is key as to why Aaron has ended up at Celtic.

I think it's really good business. I know the player extremely well. He has played at the highest level, and the ability to get about the park and (has) a range of passing and delivery. "He is a really, really good player.
