Sam Thompson says 'sorry' as he fights tears on camera when confronted by pop star

Sam Thompson was left apologising when he swore at one of the country's biggest pop stars after he was left shocked that she knew who he was. As part of his role as a presenter on Hits Radio, the I'm A Celebrity winner got to chat with Perrie Edwards as she embarks on a solo career.

The former Little Mix star has been doing the media rounds for the release of her new single, Forget About Us, with an album also in the pipeline. Amid her promotion for her latest work, Perrie joined The Hits Radio Evening Show with Sam Thompson but in a moment captured in video, the host was left awestruck.

Sam was seen in a video shared on Hits Radio's social media channels in which Perrie could be seen arriving in the studio before taking her seat. She is then heard saying to Sam: "I love you," as he positioned his microphone and in shock he replied: "Shut up!" Perrie added: "I'm such a fan..."

But Sam still couldn't believe it and with a smile across his face shouted: "No way!" Perrie continued: "I'm obsessed!" leaving Sam with his mouth wide open before the former Made in Chelsea star looked away and said: "I'm gonna cry. I didn't even think you'd know who I was!"

Perrie continued with the compliments calling him a "ray of sunshine" as Sam said they were "having a moment" before Perrie said "I love you" and he exclaimed: "F***ing Perrie mate!" He added: "Sorry, I'm having a bit of a moment," as Perrie burst out laughing.
