Star England cricketer Ben Stokes has been unveiled as a major new signing for SA20 outfit MI Cape Town.
Stokes, the England Test captain, along with New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult and Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, were three new overseas additions to the MI Cape Town roster confirmed on Wednesday.

Another Afghan all-rounder, Rashid Khan, is retained for the 2025 edition. Sri Lankan bowler Nuwan Thushara and wicketkeeper-batsman Chris Benjamin are also retained from the 2024 season. Benjamin is South African-born but plays for English county Warwickshire.
The overseas players are joined by existing pre-signed domestic players in the form of Kagiso Rabada, Dewald Brevis, Rassie van der Dussen, Ryan Rickelton, George Linde, Delano Potgieter, Thomas Kaber and Connor Esterhuizen.
MI Cape Town struggled in the opening two SA20 editions, finishing last in 2023 and 2024.
