Zara McDermott confirms truth behind gorgeous new look as she gets 'million' messages about lookalike

Zara McDermott stunned fans with her latest transformation over the weekend but now she's revealed the truth. The Strictly Come Dancing 2023 star left her fans, followers and boyfriend Sam Thompson dazzled as she headed to the Cannes Film Festival.

Zara was among the familiar faces heading to the famous annual event and joined the likes of Rochelle Humes there as part of their work with L'Oreal Paris.

And while attending the prestigious event on the French Riviera, the 27-year-old, who first rose to fame on Love Island, chose to go all out and ditched her blonde highlights for dark brunette locks.

As Zara appeared on the Emilia Perez Red Carpet at the event at Palais des Festivals, she looked incredible in a sheer navy blue gown, which had been covered in sparkling embellishments.

"This is my new alter ego…. what should I name her? CANNES 2024 with @lorealparis #makeup #hair #cannes #skincare," Zara jokingly captioned a string of gorgeous snaps of herself as she debuted her new dark hair on Instagram.

Stacey Dooley was quick to respond to the post, writing: "LOVE THE DARK HAIR." Actor and Strictly co-star Adam Thomas also commented: "Gooooo on girl powerful!!" while Layton Williams replied: "Omgoshhh."

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here winner Sam, 32, then shared a photo of his girlfriend to his own account and gushed over her red carpet look. He sweetly penned: "The HAIR!!!!!! I’ve just never seen anyone more beautiful. The fact you’re my girlfriend is hilarious. she’s at Cannes film festival atm and I’m so proud of you goose
