Youri Tielemans stance on Manchester United transfer revealed as Arsenal handed huge boost

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans would like to leave the club for Arsenal this summer, according to reports.

The Belgium international has just 12 months left on his current deal and has been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United. Tielemans is said to be worth £25million this window and interest in him is set to increase as the start to the new season draws closer.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers would of course like the midfielder to pen fresh terms at the King Power Stadium, but there is a growing acceptance that a transfer away from the club is more likely at this stage. And CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs claims that Tielemans "wants" to leave Leicester this summer.

He wrote on Twitter: "Youri Tielemans update. Told Tielemans is more likely than Sergej Milinković-Savić for Arsenal. No truth yet in any bid, though. Man United’s interest is growing and could finally provoke formal offers from both clubs. Tielemans wants Arsenal. But as yet nothing tabled to #LCFC."

Tielemans joined Leicester for an estimated fee of £32million in July 2019, almost four years to the day. He has made 158 appearances in total for the Foxes and lifted the FA Cup in 2021.
