"You wonder..." - Journalist hints Moshiri could make huge call at Everton

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri’s silence amid the Toffees’ battle for Premier League survival has led to doubts over his commitment at Goodison Park, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The Merseyside outfit boosted their hopes of fending off a drop into the Championship by climbing out of the top flight’s relegation zone thanks to a 2-1 win over Leicester City at the weekend.

Moshiri first headed to Goodison Park when he bought a 49.9 per cent stake in Everton more than six years ago.

The British-Iranian billionaire then became the Toffees’ majority shareholder when he acquired another 18.7 per cent of the club’s assets in September 2018.

There is no doubting that Moshiri has ploughed funds into Everton as 18 of the 20 most expensive signings in the Premier League side’s history have come under his watch.

Moshiri took his stake up to 94.1 per cent with a £100million capital injection in the early stages of 2022, but there are still question marks as to whether he will remain on Merseyside for a number of years.

That is because, according to the Daily Mail, three United States-based tycoons are lining up to take Everton off the 66-year-old’s hands and willing to stump up £350million in order to seal the deal.

Brown has doubts over whether Moshiri will be interested in remaining at the Everton helm if they fall out of the Premier League.

The journalist feels Moshiri’s lack of communication with the fanbase amid a relegation battle speaks volumes.
