‘You’re a grown-up’ - Former Manchester United ace scorns Jadon Sancho for ‘pointing fingers’

Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has told Jadon Sancho he should have acted like “a grown-up” and aired his differences with Erik ten Hag face-to-face in private rather than release his social media statement.

The Frenchman also said the winger has not met expectations during his time at United and believes the 23-year-old should have been more of “a man” in the situation. Sancho is currently exiled from United first-team training for refusing to apologise for his public rebuttal of Erik ten Hag.

In the now-deleted social media statement, he accused the United boss of lying about the reasons he dropped him from the squad against Arsenal, refuting his manager’s claim it was down to training levels.

He also suggested he had been made a “scapegoat for a long time”. The Manchester Evening News understands Ten Hag stands by his press conference comments and that Sancho is now open to a United exit.

Speaking to bettingexpert.com, Silvestre scorned Sancho for his reaction to Ten Hag’s comments and accused the attacker of “pointing fingers at the manager.” He added: “First of all, these things should stay between the manager and himself, not in the public domain.

“If you have something to say to your boss, you don’t go on social media, you go in the office and you talk to him, as a man. Man-to-man and respect the working situation. It is a co-working situation and has to be dealt with like this.
