Former Manchester United star names 'very exciting' forward Erik ten Hag should consider signing

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Brighton & Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma would bring something different to Old Trafford amid increasing speculation over his future.

The Japan international, 26, has been one of the Premier League's most consistent performers since the start of last season, netting 10 goals and grabbing nine assists in the league alone. He has scored three times and registered three assists in his first eight Premier League appearances this term.

Mitoma, who joined Brighton from Kawasaki Frontale in August 2021, is out of contract at the Amex Stadium in June 2025, though there has been increasing talk that he is on the cusp of signing a new deal to extend his stay. Nevertheless, speculation concerning his future remains rife.

A whole host of Premier League clubs have been linked with signing the left-winger, as have Spanish giants Barcelona. An intelligent operator both with and without the ball, Mitoma also carries a genuine goal threat, something that has been missing from United's pool of wide players so far this season.

And that is what, in the eyes of Saha, makes the Japanese ace such an attractive option for United.

"I would like to see Mitoma arrive at Old Trafford," Saha told King Casino Bonus. "He's a very exciting player and he never seems to have any doubt of the ball.

"He'll bombard defences with offensive moves all the time, and I love his energy and the way he plays with a smile. Mitoma is great to watch, and his attitude would be perfect for any club.
