Jim Goodwin offers Aberdeen recruit Bojan Miovski debut caveat as he admits 'up to speed' fear

Jim Goodwin insists it's all systems go for Aberdeen after new recruit Bojan Miovski finally checked in at Pittodrie. The North Macedonia striker's move to the Dons had been delayed due a visa application.

But the £535,000 signing's from MTK Budapest is set to be unleashed against Raith Rovers in the League Cup tomorrow. It's another welcome attacking option for Goodwin who admits Bojan Miovski's arrival has been the accumulation of months of hard work.

He said: "It's great to have Miovski here at last as he's another great attacking option for the team. He'll go straight into the squad for the Raith game but he hasn't played any matches. It's always a concern about how we can get him up to speed but he will get some minutes on Sunday. We watched Bojan about six times in the flesh and our head of recruitment Darren Mowbray has been in 16 different countries since I came in.

"I gave him a list of priority positions and number 9 striker was one of those as we relied heavily on Christian Ramirez last season.

"There were no other real options as Marley Watkins was out injured so we needed to strengthen that department.

"While Darren was over watching Miovski, Ylber Ramadani stuck out as well so we got both from MTK Budapest.

"They already know how to work together and that will make the whole process of settling into Aberdeen much easier."

Goodwin believes he has an array of attacking talent at his disposal which could leave him spoiled for choice for the challenges which lie ahead.

He said: "I think we are in really good shape with the seven that we've added so far but are still looking to do a bit of business.
