Xbox: Players will soon be able to play Game Pass games on Samsung TVs with no console

The launch of the Samsung Gaming Hub will mean that players can stream Xbox games directly from a Samsung TV without needing a console, as per GameSpot.

The Samsung Gaming Hub has an Xbox app and Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to stream games from the Game Pass catalogue, allowing you to bypass the need to actually buy an Xbox Series X/S.

Players will just need to have a controller that has Bluetooth and can connect to the TV; amazingly, it doesn’t actually need to be an Xbox controller, either.

As per the report, it will be available for all Samsung smart televisions that are released in 2022.

The hub also has the option to use Nvidia GeForce Now, Google Stadia, and Utomik.

Game Pass, of course, has a huge array of games, including a number of first-party Xbox titles that are uploaded to the service on the day of its release.

The likes of FIFA 22, Minecraft, Forza Horizon 5, NBA 2K22, Halo Infinite, and Doom Eternal are all playable on Game Pass, meaning they should also be playable on Samsung televisions.

Microsoft is also said to be working on a streaming stick that players can plug into a TV or monitor and stream games from the Xbox catalogue.

It feels as though this is a groundbreaking strategy as the developers aim to ensure that as many players as possible can have access to their games.

It is a strategy that Sony have yet to take on, in terms of their PlayStation 5 catalogue, and Microsoft clearly want to capitalise on the potential accessibility of their Game Pass offering.

Of course, Sony are also trying to compete with the subscription service by revamping PS Plus, adding a huge back catalogue of PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3 games, along with a variety of PS4 and PS5 titles that can be played.

Keep it tuned
