Erik ten Hag will soon be forced to give his verdict on some of Manchester United's youngsters

Manchester United have now played two games of their pre-season tour, with talented youngsters playing a key part in both games. Erik ten Hag's side beat Liverpool 4-0 and then followed that up with a 4-1 win against Melbourne Victory.

Ten Hag heavily rotated both sides and while this gave fringe players time to shine, it also gave the manager time to look at some of the youngsters who he may have to call upon during the forthcoming season. Zidane Iqbal, Charlie Savage, Tahith Chong, Ethan Laird and Amad all featured against Melbourne, while the likes of Will Fish, Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho have also been handed valuable minutes.

Ten Hag spoke to the media after the game about his commitment to youth. He said: "I want to have an impression from all the players. To see if they can contribute or need a loan. United have some talents, but we also see that they need development."

On the other hand, United are overloaded in the wing positions. Garnacho is incredibly talented with most fans wanting to fast-track his route to the first team, but another season in the club's academy may do him the world of good or perhaps a loan to a lower league
