WWE SmackDown: Reason why Pat McAfee missed Hell in a Cell

One name was surprisingly missing from Sunday’s Hell in a Cell event, SmackDown announcer Pat McAfee. 

The blue brand only had one match on the Hell in a Cell card, and while Michael Cole was on hand to provide commentary for the No Holds Barred match between Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin, his usual announce partner was missing in action. 

Corey Graves replaced McAfee on co-commentary, with WWE offering little explanation to why the former NFL star was not in attendance. However, McAfee has clarified the reasoning behind his absence on his own show. 

Iwas not at Hell in a Cell, SmackDown only had one match and all parties agreed that it was probably not worth the trip to Chicago and back for that. It ended up being a 13-minute match.

McAfee may not have been in Chicago for the event, but he was quick to praise the efforts of Cody Rhodes who main evented the show despite suffering a torn pectoral muscle. Rhodes was victorious and survived a thirty-minute match even with a visibly disturbing major injury.

A man last night went into Hell in a Cell with a torn tit. Cody Rhodes went in there…a lot of people thought it was makeup, that’s what your body does when you tear your st. Early, it looked like he was in a st ton of pain. but he clicked into some of ‘I don’t give up fk’ because unless they shot that thing up with everything you can shoot up with, which would hurt so bad, just the shooting up of it, a full Hell in a Cell match. They didn’t mail it in either. This st was a full match. Seth Rollins lost to a guy with one f***ing tit. I assume he’s getting surgery.
