WWE Extreme Rules results: Bray Wyatt returns as Matt Riddle beats Seth Rollins

WWE headed to Philadelphia, Pennslyvania for Extreme Rules, with fans particularly excited about the prospect of Bray Wyatt returning at the show, as was rumoured to happen.

With each match on the show having a unique stipulation, Triple H was clearly intent on giving WWE fans a night of ‘extreme’ wrestling that they’d never forget.

The show featured six blockbuster matches, as well as several twists and turns, which we’ve come to expect from Triple H’s WWE so far.

Tonight’s show opened with the Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match, putting Gunther’s Imperium against Sheamus‘ Brawling Brutes, the latest chapter in one of WWE’s best rivalries in quite some time.

Next up, Ronda Rousey looked to reclaim the SmackDown Women’s Championship that Liv Morgan beat her for back at Money in the Bank in July, with the pair squaring off in an Extreme Rules match.

In what was his first match on pay-per-view for WWE, Karrion Kross squared off with former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in a strap match.

In the next match on the show, Bianca Belair defended her Raw Women’s Championship against Bayley, with the threat of Damage CTRL getting involved looming in the background.

WWE Hall of Famer Edge looked to finally settle his beef with Judgement Day by going one-on-one with Finn Balor, who orchestrated his removal from the group, in an ‘I Quit’ match.

The show was main evented by Seth Rollins v Matt Riddle in WWE’s first-ever main roster Fight Pit match, with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier being brought in to referee the big bout.
