'Would die on the pitch' - Marcel Sabitzer praises three Manchester United teammates

Marcel Sabitzer has praised his Manchester United teammates Lisandro Martinez, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

Sabitzer has become a key player for Erik ten Hag since his arrival from Bayern Munich on loan in January. Last week, his two goals against Sevilla put United in a strong position in the Europa League semi-final before two late own-goals left them with work to do.

While his performances have been praised, Sabitzer has been left impressed by United's core players so far this campaign.

He told Bild: "The team's will to win is enormous. The mentality is extremely winning. I'll tell you about three players: Our world champion Lisandro Martinez would die on the pitch. For him, winning is everything, he is a defender in every sense of the word. A brutal winner and leader.

"Bruno Fernandes is very important for the dressing room, hugely responsible. Marcus Rashford is the main attacker, a world-class striker, if he is running you can't defend him."

The 29-year-old Austrian added that he has adapted his game to suit the style of the Premier League. "Football in Germany is different: controlled, with a lot of tactics, possession of the ball," Sabitzer explained. "There are many switching situations here. You have to be quick to act, clever and alert.

"I often had these situations in Leipzig when it came to counter-pressing, quickly getting behind the defensive line, solutions in a small space. I had to play more of that Leipzig style again. The time at RB prepared me well for England."
