Marcel Sabitzer 'proud' of Manchester United spell amid speculation over permanent move

Marcel Sabitzer admits he is 'very proud' to have been involved at Manchester United after an encouraging few months on loan.

Sabitzer joined United from Bayern Munich in January, adding depth to the midfield for a busy second half of the season. The decision was made to sanction a move late in the window, following Christian Eriksen's ankle injury against Reading and subsequent period on the sideline.

The Austrian settled into a hectic period with relative ease and has impressed at Old Trafford, particularly in a couple of spells behind the striker from which he has picked up two goals and an assist.

Erik ten Hag has been quick to praise Sabitzer during the last few months and speculation has grown as to whether the Dutchman will authorise a permanent move in the summer.

"I've already experienced a lot in my career, including Bayern Munich," Sabitzer told Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg. "Here, everything is bigger. There are even more people who care about you. People are crazy about Manchester United. You can feel it at Old Trafford. So I can only say that I enjoy being here and I'm very proud to have managed to be a part of the club."

Bayern Munich would be open to selling Sabitzer in the summer, with competition for a midfield spot already fierce. Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka have dominated the roles in recent seasons, with Konrad Laimer also set to join from RB Leipzig in the summer and Ryan Gravenberch frustrated over a lack of minutes.
