Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer in the dark over his future

Marcel Sabitzer has admitted he is yet to discuss his future beyond the end of the season with Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel.

Since his appointment in March, the Bundesliga giants have stumbled - being eliminated from the Champions League and German Cup while also surrendering a healthy lead in the league. A shock 3-1 defeat by Mainz a fortnight ago caused genuine fear that Bayern could fail to win the title for the first time since 2012.

While all of that has unfolded, Manchester United have been fighting on European and domestic fronts. The Reds endured their own humiliating European exit to Sevilla but are through to the FA Cup final and remain in control of their top-four destiny.

Fierce competition in midfield means it is unlikely Sabtzer will be plying his trade at the Allianz Arena next year. Speaking to Sky Germany, the 29-year-old revealed no discussions have taken place between himself and Tuchel.

“Of course, there hasn’t been any contact up until now, because they have a lot going on and so do we,” Sabitzer said. “Everyone is focused on their tasks. We’ll discuss and analyse everything calmly and see in which direction it’ll go.”
