"Would be dream signings for Newcastle" - Journalist drops transfer claim on £171m-rated duo

Newcastle United are showing serious ‘ambition’ by eyeing the ‘dream signings’ of Neymar and Harry Kane in the summer, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Magpies became the richest club in world football after the Saudi Arabia-based Public Investment Fund led a £305million takeover last October, meaning they will head into the upcoming transfer window with a large amount to spend.

According to Spanish sources, Newcastle are one of three clubs planning an audacious swoop for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar.

The report suggests the Ligue 1 giants are willing to offload the £81million-rated star at the end of the season and the Magpies, along with Manchester City and previous employers Barcelona, are mulling over whether to make a move.

Neymar’s arrival at St James’ Park would be a huge coup, particularly considering we are only five years on from when the 30-year-old became the world’s most expensive signing thanks to swapping Barcelona for PSG in a £200million switch.

Meanwhile, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane is on Newcastle’s radar ahead of the summer.
